Johnstone Supply Sponsors Honeywell Training Class in Woburn MA

Recently, the ongoing education efforts of Johnstone Supply included a specified Honeywell Combustion Training class with Hands-On Gas Ignition training with emphasis on Flame Detection, Gas Ignition Pilot Controls, Direct Ignition and Gas burner controls.

With the collaborative efforts of Bill Van-Norman and Artie Testa, both representatives of the Ed Os Agency which represents Honeywell in this marketing area, and the greater Boston locations of Woburn, Danvers and Medford of Johnstone Supply, the class was a tremendous success. Gary Briggs and David Luwendowski, both certified trainers for Honeywell’s combustion and gas ignition course and veterans of the industry were impressed by the capacity group of over 50 contractors who attended the all day event.

              Gary Briggs, certifi ed trainer for Honeywell, discusses universal ignition controls at class sponsored by Johnstone Supply

“We had anticipated a regular class of roughly 25-30 HVAC contractors:” commented Gary Briggs. “We were very pleased with the capacity group and the caliber of the audience as well. The guys were engaged throughout the day, asked great questions and responded extremely well to the challenges we gave them during the 3 hands-on lab sessions”: Briggs added.

“Having more than 25 lab stations for the mechanics to apply and test the procedures and concepts being taught was a big plus:” commented Steve Hilbrunner, Director of Industrial sales for Johnstone Supply. “It provided the guys with the added benefit of working through the challenges set up by the instructors and to see how a system responds under different conditions”.

To date, over 30,000 service technicians have participated in ‘The Source’ training to sharpen their troubleshooting skills, earning both CEU Credits and 8 hours towards re-certifi cation as recognized by NATE.
